INFO
As part of the Warmoes Biennial – an Amsterdam event that brings together art, creators, the local community and visitors, showcasing the wealth of stories, perspectives and creativity hidden behind the façades of the city centre – an open call was put out to local residents to ‘donate’ silver for a small model of an imaginary room. In collaboration with We Live Here, Narges Mohammadi reached out to the residents.
The silver was tested for authenticity, its quality assessed, and then melted so that new forms could be created from a former ring, bracelet, spoon or necklace. In exchange for their donation, residents received a silver miniature interior object, item or element inspired by their story. This project has immortalised the stories of Warmoesstraat. Only when all the objects come together, the artwork is ‘complete’, just as a street is shaped by its residents, each with their own story.
