Of Sand and Flour drifts into a dream without beginning or end. Narges Mohammadi, dressed in her Afghan robe, sifts flour from sand. Through slow and deliberate movements, the artist transforms memory into action, pain into rhythm. The sieve becomes both weapon and balm, each grain caught between futility and care. Their entanglement becomes a metaphor for lives caught between nourishment and deprivation, between home and exile.

Filmed in 4:3, the work is intimate, claustrophobic, yet vast in its implications. Micro-movements of hands become landscapes of emotion; repetition becomes resistance. The work refuses resolution: the mountain never diminishes, the struggle never eases. Like Sisyphus, Mohammadi finds herself in a cycle without release – yet her perseverance reveals something beyond despair.
